Sarah decides that God wants her to answer a newspaper ad asking for a bride. However, when she reaches Little
Hickman, Kentucky , she discovers that the man who had paid to bring her there has fallen in love with the local
schoolteacher and is married. Stranded, Sarah remains at the boarding house trying to decide what to do. Again, she feels
that God wants her to remain in the little Kentucky town, so following her heart, she soon discovers why.
Rocky has recently lost his wife and small son to illnesses. However, Rocky¢s sister dies soon after and leaves her two
orphaned children, Rachel and Seth, in her brother¢s care. Gruff and furious with God about the anguish and rough times
in his life, he stumbles into Sarah one day and she turns his life upside down all over again.
Moreover, when Sarah¢s lifelong friend, Stephen, shows up to take her home, professing his love and that he intends to
marry her, Sarah takes Rocky up on his offer of being his wife in name only. Rocky is attracted to Sarah, and she to him,
but Sarah¢s from a family that¢s very wealthy. Can he swallow his pride and let her help him and the community with her
money? Is Sarah determined to show him that her pampered way of life won¢t hinder her from house cleaning and sewing
the land to harvest later?
Will she stay? Or will Sarah annul their marriage and run back to her grand home and posh friends? Or maybe, just maybe,
